Where can I find accommodation on the Small Isles?

Accommodation across the Small Isles ranges from campsites and bothies to self-catering cottages, guesthouses, hostels and glamping, with something for different budgets and ways of travelling.

Because Eigg, Muck, Rum and Canna are small islands, the number of places to stay is naturally limited. Accommodation can book up well in advance, particularly during the summer, school holidays and around popular island events. If you’re planning to stay overnight, it’s worth arranging your accommodation early and checking availability before finalising your travel.

Book direct where you can

Not all Small Isles accommodation appears on the large booking websites. Many places take bookings directly through their own website, by email or over the phone, so an online search showing little availability doesn’t necessarily mean that the island is full.

The island websites are a good starting point and bring together accommodation options available on each island:

Staying for a few nights also gives you much more time to explore beyond the ferry timetable, join any community events taking place during your visit and support island accommodation providers and other local businesses.
