Rum Dark Skies Festival 14 to 17 February 2026

Rum was named an International Dark Sky Sanctuary in 2024 and this winter festival celebrates its extraordinary night skies. Join the community for planetarium sessions, astrophotography, expert led stargazing, poetry and more. Follow Visit Isle of Rum on Instagram for updates.



Canna House Easter Egg Trail 3 to 6 April 2026

A fun Easter weekend event for families exploring the island. Join in for some egg-stra special Easter fun at Canna House. Follow the trail through the magical Escallonia tunnel, collect clues, solve the puzzle and win a chocolatey reward. Friendly Canna House team members will be on hand all day to guide you and make sure everyone has a great time. A perfect family outing on the Isle of Canna.


Canna 10K Trail Run - Saturday 30 May 2026

A scenic island trail run followed by a BBQ and ceilidh. Get ready to run, explore and celebrate on the stunning Isle of Canna! This 10km trail winds across rugged terrain with a couple of steep climbs, offering breathtaking island views at every turn – trail shoes recommended. Registration opens at 10am at the Shearing Shed, with the race kicking off at 12pm. Every runner takes home a coveted Canna 10K T-shirt, medal, and a ticket to the post-run BBQ. Finish the day with music, dancing, and a ceilidh in the evening – a perfect mix of adventure, community, and island fun.



Canna Nature Fest 30 July to 3 August 2026

A five day festival celebrating the wildlife and landscapes of Canna and Sanday, with themed days and activities throughout the week. Follow Canna_nts to learn more and book events here.


Canna House Guided Tours

Canna House reopened in 2024 after a nine year restoration by the National Trust for Scotland. Step inside Canna House and discover the rich history of this remarkable island home. Built in 1863, the house was later gifted to the National Trust for Scotland by Gaelic scholars John Lorne Campbell and Margaret Fay Shaw. On a guided tour, you’ll learn about their extraordinary lives, explore the house’s fascinating interiors, and gain insight into the island’s cultural heritage.

Small Island Games Saturday 8 August 2026 on the Isle of Eigg

Experience a true taste of island life at the Small Island Games, a lively day bringing the communities of the Small Isles together. Visitors can watch or join in on fun events like tug-of-war, sack races, and welly throwing, all set against Eigg’s stunning backdrop. The day ends with delicious local food, lively music, and dancing – a joyful celebration of island spirit that’s perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy the heart of the Hebrides.
